Howdy Y'all, Nice to Meet Ya!

My name is Chelsea, I’m a community organizer with more than a decade of experience organizing my community in the southern Appalachian mountains of Western NC, and communities beyond. 

Through nonprofits, electoral campaigns, disaster relief response, and beyond, my work has consistently specialized in grassroots campaigns that amplify the intersecting experiences of multiracial, rural, working class community members.

I was raised by a village of neighbors, church members, and family friends from as early as I can remember. Throughout my journey, one thing has become abundantly clear: all we've got is each other, and we are all we need. In order to perpetuate itself across generations, the Culture of White Supremacist Capitalism pushes us farther away from ourselves, from each other, from our communities, and from our histories. But we still have all the pieces, and we can put them back together.

My passion is reclaiming and weaving together those pieces that contribute to transformative community healing: real human stories, solidarity across shared struggle, and collective power and wisdom. My work draws on my academic background with a Master of Social Work, my lived experience, and evolving emergent strategies to meet the moment that we're in. Equipped with a unique set of skills and a depth of knowledge, I'm building a foundation that empowers individuals and groups with evidence-based practices to foster connection and healing for themselves and their communities.
